November 3: We arrived at the port after a brief but succinct taxi ride directly to the front gate to check in. Cruise personnel collected the one suitcase we wanted to part with and we took our carryon plus tote/backpack on ourselves. Right to our cabin (7013) and unpacked what we had with us. By then our next suitcase was waiting outside our door so we unpacked that as well. We had a quick bite to eat and headed to the muster at 4:30pm. We have an informal Sail Away party in the Seaview Café so just after the muster we headed there and met some of the people on the Cruise Critic board and talked with them. Lots of accents
with this cruise and I think we will make some new friends.
We had this little “gift” waiting for us aboard since we are Emerald members. We will be Diamond after this cruise, who knows what fabulous gifts await next! lol We made a quick call to Mom that ended unexpectedly, but it was great to hear her voice and know all was well with her. There’s just something exciting, mesmerizing, romantic, and exotic about departing on a cruise ship into the darkness of the sea ahead. Can you imagine what our ancestors, sailors of old? We have every possible comfort and feel extremely safe on our ventures!
We met our friends Stuart and Darlene for dinner. John had prime rib and I had sea bass, both were delicious. Lots of movement on the ship tonight… So I am cutting this short. We will have out sea legs soon! Meanwhile, Dramamine!
